Tap Chat was inspired by my wife. As a speech pathologist, I watched her navigate through a variety of terrible and expensive apps for verbal communication development. Some of the apps would perform very basic functionality, and cost upwards of $1,000. I wanted to prove that I could build the same thing, but much better, and give it away for free. Partnering with a friend of mine, we built a responsive react based app that was a combination of the top 3 speech apps in the store.
